strager 18 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Where does the icon on the Chromecast screen come from? I couldn't find it anywhere in the mediabrowser files.

strager 18 Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Right....but how does that translate into the actual install files? Is it pulling it from git every time? What if there is no internet connection?

Solution Luke 39620 Posted February 18, 2015 Solution Posted February 18, 2015 No that isn't true. No apps require an internet connection, but chromecast is an exception. We host the chromecast receiver page from github. It's currently not possible to embed it into MBS because each chromecast url has to be registered and approved with google. 1
CBers 7047 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 OK, perhaps the apps themselves don't need an internet connection, but if there isn't one, then you can't use the Samsung Smart TV app or the MB app on the Fire TV as both devices check for an internet before launching the app.
