silverscout 7
Hi, I have some family members (in the house) who utilize the media centers (Plex and MB3) I have set up. (no surprise right?). However, they have noticed improvement when attempting to play, even through the web browser, with MB3 vs Plex. They state Plex skips a lot especially on if their connection is slower than mine (which is usually always.. My PC has business class 30mbs up and down). so no more bragging about plex vs mb3 and my internets. I was wondering if the difference with streaming the media was that Plex pushes the data and MB3 allows a pull? or is it buffering? or did Luke trap a pixie and shook her to get all of her magic pixie dust? both links to my PC use DYDNS and both run off of the same PC and HDD so we can rule out difference in HDD.. My IO and CPU never go above 50%. so just wondering why the difference in performance? SilverScout
Luke 37150
Ironically the web client should perform the worst of any client since it always has to transcode everything. So no, there's no tricks, but it helps when you have someone on your team like Tikuf who knows everything there is to know about encoding.

Luke 37150
We should probably have an alias for Tikuf when we mention his name so that nobody can try and recruit him away from us .
CWNashvegas 170
or did Luke trap a pixie and shook her to get all of her magic pixie dust? You do know that not all Pixies are female, right? See what I'm getting at? (slinks away and waits for the banhammer...)

Tikuf is now "Pixie".
