Possible to enable subtitles by default?

I have an issue with playback where if I enable the subtitles, the movie will either restart, or just stop playing entirely... it's really annoying.

Thanks for any advice!

Move this to the support section for the client you're trying to play with. Based on your provided information we have no idea what app you're using.

Will do -- it's the web browser, MBC can't play back external .SRTs from my knowledge.

Yes, it can play back external .srt files.  That's almost exclusively what I use.  It more depends on the codec settings, since it's essentially WMP playing it.
