I'm new to MB so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or if there is a bug of some sort (since it is beta).

 

1) I was using UNC paths to a NAS and the scanning kept crashing/never finishing.  I changed this to a mapped drive and it seemed to finish OK.  Are UNC paths not supported?  Would you like/need a more detailed error report/info. on this?

 

2) I rip full disks.  DVD into File Structure (with the VIDEO_TS folder) and Blu-Ray to an ISO file.  Blu-Rays appear to work OK.  DVDs, however, sometimes seem to miss large chunks of the movie and the disk menu doesn't seem to ever appear.  Again, what is supposed to happen here and what details are needed, if any to address this?

 

3) TV series are ripped into the following structure: "Z:\Media Library 04\DVD Archive\TV\The Big Bang Theory\Big Bang Theory, Season 6, Disk 1\VIDEO_TS". TV series seem to have several problems in that they miss disks entirely and I guess I just have a hard time figuring out what is supposed to be going on.  For instance, disk 1 doesn't seem to show up at all but disks 2 and 3 appear to.  

 

I guess I'm mainly just lost as to what is expected, etc. and how to go about setting it up.  I've tried reading all of the doc. I could find but that mainly appears to be for version 2 and there seem to be quite a few differences between them so that hasn't helped me much.

UNC paths are supported and encouraged. 

 

However, you appear to have chosen some of the most problematic formats for you items.  DVD folder rips and ISOs present some of the most limitations and problems with the tools of today so only limited functionality is available.  Especially, for your TV series you should consider breaking these into individual episodes in another format (mkv, ts, whatever).  There is no way we can provide full TV functionality with folder rips or ISOs.

 

All of the documentation in the KB on this site is for MB3.  Read the library structure wiki and the setup guides.

What was that thing that I think CWNashVegas posted about some registry change for network access errors? I wonder if that's it?

 

In any event, the upcoming server release has some image saving fixes. Please try that out when it becomes available and then report back.

I wasn't the one who posted it, I was just the one who explained what it did - stops UAC from stripping admin rights from remote connections.
