tornadotj 6
I'm having some big problems with media either not pulling data or pulling the wrong information. For example, the file The American (2010).mkv is being named "Disney's The American Presidents - Cival War an Reconstruction & The Development of the U.S.". https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/27579-the-american Similarly, Paul (2011).mkv is being titled C'est la vie - Paul Muller erzählt. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/39513-paul https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/220564-c-est-la-vie-paul-muller-erz-hlt Blues Brothers 2000 (1998).mkv is being titled The Blues Brothers: Soul Biscuit https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/11568-blues-brothers-2000 Zero Hour! (1957) will tell me the director, but does not pull any backdrops or other information. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/54541-zero-hour Same problem with Vanishing Point (1971) Some files with punctuation in them don't seem to work. For example, R.I.P.D. (2013).mkv doesn't pull any information. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/49524-r-i-p-d Same thing for filename Mr. Nobody (2009).mkv. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/31011-mr-nobody The Kill Bill movies also fail when the title has Vol. 1 or Vol. 2 instead of Vol 1 or Vol 2 (without the period). These are also listed in The Movie Database with the periods in place. Also the same thing for E.T., it won't work right with the periods there. These all work properly in MB2, if that means anything. Server Version 3.0.5445.6 MB Classic client, not sure what version but if I check for updates it says it is current. Luke 37068
well here is the american: https://www.themoviedb.org/search/movie?query=the+american It is the first result returned by Tmdb so that's why that happens.
tornadotj 6
Does the fact that it worked properly in MB2 give any clue as to why this is happening?
Luke 37068
it doesn't matter one bit. that is the top result coming from Tmdb. Their search algorithms have obviously evolved over the past couple years as well. It's not a simple thing of well MB2 to MB3 is the only thing that changed. tornadotj 6
I have only recently begun the migration from MB2 to MB3, so I still have some devices on MB2. This is direct, at this moment comparison. I see what you are getting at regarding the search. Maybe we could enter a TMDb or IMDb number somewhere in a future release that would improve accuracy for these problem items?
CashMoney 94
You can already In the metadata manager or as a tag on the movie folder, so movie (2010) [tmdbid#] Edit - or not, hrmm. I was sure I'd read something about this, but apparently not .... Edited December 14, 2014 by CashMoney
tornadotj 6
That would certainly solve the problem! I keep my movies out in a root directory unless they are DVDs. Is that a problem? All my MKVs are in the same folder. Never had any trouble with it.
ebr 14913
There is also a very easy to use "Identify" feature built right into the web client/metadata manger. Just use that for any of these problem items.
tornadotj 6
What about the punctuation issues? I mentioned it in the MBC section, but was asked to create a thread here in the Server section.
ebr 14913
The identify function overrides all naming conventions so it can be used to solve any of these issues (as long as the item is being resolved as a movie).
