aaRJay 2 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I have the latest version (beta) of the server running on my HTPC at home. I have been trying to connect to it from work for a while now... in fact from even before the Connect feature came out. So far, I've been SOL. My HTPC is behind a router at home, and so I was very happy when Connect came out. But... When I go to app.mediabrowser.tv and sign in, I can see my server there. Clicking on it only spins the wheel for a few seconds and then... nothing. What am I doing wrong? Please, please, please help me out.
Beardyname 197 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Have you enabled UPNP in the server dashboard? and/or have you enabled port-forwarding on your router? http://canyouseeme.org/ is a really good tool to figure out if you can access your stuff from outside your LAN
aaRJay 2 Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 UPNP: Yes Port forwarding: Yes on router and firewall I do not have a static IP... so i do not have the current IP to check on canyouseeme
Beardyname 197 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) there are tools for that as well http://www.whatismyip.com/ *edit* canyouseeme.org also includes your current ip when you open up the page! Edited December 4, 2014 by Beardyname
ebr 15647 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 The dashboard Server page also shows you your public address.
ginjaninja 573 Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 i am also seeing this..it may be my server has crashed..will check when i get home.. i thought i had it set up..as i have a connect user configured and the server was running when i left home (and in the past is accessible via public ip/dns/8096)
ginjaninja 573 Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Between specifying and using email rather than username in user config and we client logon Removing an out of date external dns reference in server config Not trying to logon from a web client on same network as server. I was successfully able to logon to web client.
