skynet600 33
I have two users. One is admin with password access. The other is passwordless for general use but has access schedule restrictions as shown below. The client was left open for some time as we watched other terrestrial TV. I went back to it after the 20:00 restriction and MBC crashed. I would expect the normal behaviour should be logout of that user once the restriction is reached. I would also expect a timer so that if admin is left open a timer can be set to logout just in case. Server log showing crash is attached. I could not find an MBC log. Server version is 3.0.5448.13879 MBC version is 3.0.240.0 Current theme in use for that user is Chocolate. server-63553101303.txt MBClassic-21220146c12f47fa9da4f23a73698842970e581.log Edited December 3, 2014 by skynet600
ebr 14913
If it crashed, I need the Windows event log and the MBC log. Thx.
skynet600 33
MBC log in original post. As for the event log I think this is it but it is a full 42 seconds after the event in the server log. ebr 14913
Thanks. Looking at the code I'm not sure how that happened. You said you left MBC running while watching other TV. How was this done? Were you watching TV in WMC and green buttoned out of MBC so it was still running in the background?
skynet600 33
Ok so my son was watching a film before bed. The film was stopped and we left MBC open on the PC at that film. We then switched to normal TV so moved from PC altogether to terrestrial TV. I then switched back to the PC and it immediately failed once I started to manipulate it. skynet600 33
Just so you know I not have been able to replicate this yet.
ebr 14913
Yeah, looking at our code I don't see how we got a null ref. The event log report actually says that Media Center itself crashed as opposed to us.
skynet600 33
Happened again tonight. I get the access message within mbc and then media centre stops working and restarts. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5701721/MB3/MBClassic-11122014a25878e7e31d4031b0019dd2d06cff82.log https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5701721/MB3/server-63553927027.txt - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Windows Error Reporting" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1001</EventID> <Level>4</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2014-12-11T22:40:03.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>192705</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>MediaPC</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>1690896870</Data> <Data>5</Data> <Data>CLR20r3</Data> <Data>Not available</Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>ehshell.exe</Data> <Data>6.1.7600.16385</Data> <Data>4a5bd053</Data> <Data>Microsoft.MediaCenter.UI</Data> <Data>6.1.0.0</Data> <Data>4ce7b8bc</Data> <Data>19c2</Data> <Data>27</Data> <Data>System.NullReferenceException</Data> <Data /> <Data>C:\Users\Russ\AppData\Local\Temp\WER1BA0.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml</Data> <Data>C:\Users\Russ\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_ehshell.exe_859ab8b5788c5c3c4a94925f268e61ba5a79924_184134da</Data> <Data /> <Data>0</Data> <Data>a1499655-8186-11e4-b721-78e3b597fa26</Data> <Data>0</Data> </EventData> </Event> Edited December 11, 2014 by skynet600
skynet600 33
Still suffering from this.
ebr 14913
The null reference is happening in Media Center so I haven't found anything I can do to get around this yet (nor have I reproduced it).
