DtectiveDecimal 0 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 (edited) Can someone please explain to me how to get Emby to read my song files' embedded album art properly? I have every setting turned off metadata wise except the "Song image fetcher-embedded image" one. That way it only pulls the images from the art I have put into the mp3's metadata. In one folder, it only reads a couple out of the literal hundreds. 98% of them remain imageless. I cannot get it to take the image In another folder, it sees that there is an image, but extracts and displays the wrong one. I have scrubbed the mp3 file several times, the only image within that file is the correct one. Emby's settings are turned to where it can only get the image from whats embedded in the mp3. WHERE is it getting this incorrect image from? I cannot get it to actually use the image I want. It is also worth noting that every other program I have that can read these files sees all the art properly. Only Emby seems to fail at it. Hi there, I would start by refreshing the metadata on one of these tracks and see if that helps pull in an image.
DtectiveDecimal 0 Posted September 27, 2024 Author Posted September 27, 2024 Hello, So I've been doing that. Each time I try something new I tell it to refresh metadata, replace existing metadata. I also delete the entire metadata folder each time to make sure emby is starting from scratch. I seemed to have found part of the issue, as for the folder with hundreds of songs and only a few of them appearing, that seemed to just be a loading error, once I actually clicked on the song itself, it pulled the image and would show it from then on just fine. but the smaller folder, the one that absolutely will not take the right image. - I did some playing around with it. The problem is bound to the "album" tag in the mp3's metadata. Somehow Emby is reading the tag, and finding the album art based on its tag, and using that. If I deleted the album tag entirely, it would pull the image from the song file like I want it to. I have no idea how Emby is even doing this, the ONLY box I have ticked in the metadata retrieval settings is "embedded images", but its not using the embedded image, its using the name of the album to find the album art and use that. Which granted, is the correct art for that album. But the reason I have my own images in my mp3 files is because sometimes I don't want to use the "official album art". The image it keeps pulling and using I dont even have on my computer. I do not know where it is getting it from. as for why all songs within the album universally share that art, I figured that one out. Emby prioritises Album and songs within an album over individual songs' art like I have. I could just never tag my music with an album, that would get me what I want. but I'd still like to, I dont mind that it shares the same image across everything with that tag. I just want it to actually be the image I want. If I tag the album something random, literall gibberish, nothing happens. it takes the image from the mp3 like normal. but when I tag the album its true name, it immediately finds and uses the "official album art" and refuses to use anything else. Like I mentioned, I have every form of network metadata retrieval disabled, I am not sure where Emby is getting this image from. The only thing it should be able to do is read the embedded art, which it only does if the album tag either isnt there, or isnt a legitimately named album
Luke 39306 Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Hi, can you please show a specific example? Thanks.
