MartinCheetham 5 Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 I 've just upgraded my Ubuntu box running EMBY Theatre (3.0.21) to 24.04.1 LTS (noble). EMBY Theatre now won't play videos or music; just get the spinning wheel. The EMBY web interface works fine so my EMBY server is OK. I tried a reinstallation of EMBY theater and got the following messages; librasound2 is a virtual package provided by: liboss4-salsa-asound2 4.2-build2020-lubuntu3, librasound2t64 1.2.11-lbuild2 (= 1.2.11-lbuild2), You should explicitly select one to install. e:Package 'libasound2' has no installation candidate. I don't know if this is causing the problem but something is not right. Can you comment or can I provide more information as I am clueless as to what these messages mean. Thanks.
MartinCheetham 5 Posted September 26, 2024 Author Posted September 26, 2024 This might be relevant; https://github.com/cypress-io/cypress-documentation/issues/5816 but when I tried to install librasound2t64 it was already installed and at the latest version (1.2.11-lbuild2)
MartinCheetham 5 Posted September 28, 2024 Author Posted September 28, 2024 I'm happy to help but I don't know anything about a compositor. I could install EMBY theatre on windows, ubuntu, QTS, iPhone, ipad & a Sony smart TV. Incidentally I've installed the snap version (3.0.21) of Emby theater on unbutu 24.041 and it works OK but I suspect that the replay volume if reduced. This might be an issue with putting 5.1 sound through a stereo amp. I need to check more. 1
