piyade12 0
I have an problem when searching for subtitles via kodi The title string that the subtitle add on retrieves from Emby is very strange. It’s a long string of random numbers and letters. So I cannot download any subtitles as they are not found. I tried different versions of Kodi, because I had been using it for years without any problems. But no matter what I did, it didn't fix it. A native mode was suggested on a similar issue, but it didn't work either. Anyone have a suggestion?

quickmic 1477
Well, the "random" numbers are correct and are part of the URL string (in addon mode) but it also includes the actual filename. In native mode, the string reflects the filename (only). As Kodi uses the filename for subtitle download, the filename should be similar or close to the movie name. It makes the subtitle suggestions more accurate, however. Subtitle download also works in addon mode, if the filename is accurate. My recommendation, use subtitle download on from Emby server and you wouldn't run into that issue. The ultimate solution would be if Kodi's subtitle downloaders uses the movie name and not the filenames for detection, but this is not up to the Emby plugins.
