gene0915 40 Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 I blew away my Emby install and started with a clean slate. I don't have previous data to compare against but I moved Emby's cache and metadata folder to a spindle drive and checked their sizes and compared that to Plex: Emby Cache folder: 812 megs Metadata folder: 428 megs Plex: Cache folder: 92 gigs Metadata folder: 35 gigs The libraries are the same and most of my users are still on Plex. As time goes on, will the Emby folder sizes catch up or is Emby more efficient at storing cache/metadata? Or when the day comes where I dump Plex and am 100% Emby, will the size of those folders be AROUND the same size as Plex is now due to increased client count? For those that maintain dual media servers and have equal usage on both, do you see those folders being about the same in size?
Luke 39631 Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 HI, I don't really know what Plex puts in there so it's just hard to say. The size of the metadata folder will be influenced by whether or not you save images to media folders, and then also with what features you have enabled.
