xphorm 1
Hi everyone! I am not sure if hardware acceleration of transcoding is used here in my setup. I have Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-10105 CPU which is supposed to have Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics integrated. Don't know if it's possible at all, and I would say Emby is not supporting that kind of hardware, but can someone confirm? And yes, I do have occasional problems streaming in local gigabit network, sometimes movie stops for few seconds, I guess that CPU just cannot always do realtime transcoding, probably dependent on how complicated the frames are? More, I see the CPU Intel Core i9-10900K is compatible with my board and it has Intel® UHD Graphics 630 which I would say is supported by Emby judging by logs. Would that be better option than my current CPU? Another question, hardware acceleration is possible only with Premiere subscription, right? Thank you embyserver.txt hardware_detection-63846055483.txt
Lessaj 61
The 10105 and 10900k have the same UHD 630 integrated graphics. It's likely better in terms of CPU transcoding, but it shouldn't make any difference for GPU transcoding, which it should be using. Your log indicates the quicksync is available for multiple decoders. Do you have premiere? Do you see transcoding occurring on the dashboard during media playback?
Happy2Play 8296
What does the UI show you? But looking at the log it would appear so. You may have to reorder VAAPI over QuickSync but that is really system specific. 2024-03-14 23:24:43.816 Info CodecManager: CodecList: Decoders mpeg2video QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - MPEG-2 VAAPI CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - MPEG-2 h264 QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - H.264 (AVC) VAAPI CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - H.264 (AVC) vc1 QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - VC-1 VAAPI CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - VC-1 vp8 QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - VP8 VAAPI CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - VP8 hevc QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - H.265 (HEVC) VAAPI CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - H.265 (HEVC) vp9 QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - VP9 VAAPI CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - VP9 av1 QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - AV1 Encoders h264 QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - H.264 (AVC) VAAPI CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - H.264 (AVC) hevc QuickSync CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - H.265 (HEVC) VAAPI CometLake-S GT2 UHD Graphics 630 - H.265 (HEVC)
xphorm 1
Thanks for replies, I wasn't aware of "stats for nerds" when playing a movie, and there I can see the little motherboard icon along with information about transcoding so I guess acceleration is used, please check this screenshot. Anyways, it's funny that this Gigabyte page is saying I have Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics, but then again Intel says it's Intel® UHD Graphics 630, so I guess Gigabyte is wrong Was reading about what is better QuickSync or VAAPI, so it seems that for Intel CPU's QuickSync is a bit better.
