Audio Files. How to force directory/collection entry?

Hi guys,

maybe this was discussed earlier, but I do not find a solution.

For my collection of audio files. How can I prevent emby for listing every track as single entry, rather than grouping them in one directory as some kind of selfmade playlist or collection?

See here:
Album Zara Larsson - Venus was detected by emby as album. Fine!
My own collection of LO-FI House files in one directory, was not detected as "collection or playlist" but every title is listed as separate one.

Can I include some magic file or switch inside my "lo-fi house" directory to prevent this single listings?
I would like to have one entry like the "Venus album" instead.

Any ideas?

Michael

Most collection type albums need an Album Artist tag to tell Emby it is a collection and not a series of individual singles by individual artists.
You can use Various or Various Artists etc.

You'll probably need to manually edit the metadata tags with a tool like mp3tag

Correct

For these types of compilation albums if you want all tracks to show up as a single entity you want to make sure both the "album" and "album artist" fields are the same for all tracks. Otherwise the album will be split up for the various artists listed.

ok. looks like, this is working for me from Metadata-Manager.

I made now about 40 times CTRL-V for both Album-Artist and Album. This was fun. 🤪
Unfortunately it looks like, I have to deal with tracknumbers manually as well:

now I got 30x 'Track 1'.

I wish I could store some 'content.nfo' file inside the directory to set 'Various Artists' and 'Collection Title' for all tracks at once.
Numbering could be done by emby as well....

I'll try out mp3tag. Maybe this is able to handle x files at once.

thanks

Yes select all tracks right click, extended tag and edit all tracks at once.

yes! mp3tag did everything for me. even the renumbering of tracks.

now I'm happy with emby and my selfmade playlists.

thank you for the hits.
