TimOlaf 3 Posted March 7 Share Posted March 7 Hi, I was about to install Emby Server on my new Windows machine (I already run it on my old machine), and I noticed there's a "Portable Installation" available. Can someone very briefly/simply explain why or when I might use the Portable Installation? I'm guessing I probably don't want that, but I'm wondering what exactly it's for and who might utilize it. pwhodges 1532 Posted March 7 Share Posted March 7 In essence it's exactly the same, but you put it in a directory of your choosing and create your own shortcut to it instead of letting the installer do it. Happy2Play 8295 Posted March 7 Share Posted March 7 The installer defaults to a specific install location, where the portable can be placed anywhere. That is really the only difference.
