kevinnashuk 6
I use Emby server on Synlogy and the Samsung TV app There used to be a very useful option to not require password to login on local network, I cannot find this now. Inputting passwords on the TV one character at a time is awkward, especially and I have to reinstall the app every 30 days. If the password less option has gone, could logging in with the PIN be an option on local network as it is much easier to enter on a TV than a many character password
GrimReaper 3328
Login process has been revamped, there's no more distinction between local and remote connections for login purposes, passwords are stored on the devices now and require entering it at least once after which you can optionally protect it with pin. Passwords
kevinnashuk 6
OK understood I usually use passwords like this *$ppZ9BtWvpvDkrJkRnJJOoQxT But not practical to enter on a TV, most other streaming services offer the ability to login via computer/phone rather than entering passwords via the remote. Could this be implemented on Emby?
Luke 37191
@kevinnashukHi, yes we have a new QR code sign in feature that we're currently working on. It will be a month or two but hopefully in the near future.
