This issue has bugged me for years, even when using PLEX.

I have two versions of Star Wars: A New Hope..  The original 35mm Silver Screen Edition and the Special Edition. Hard to see the special edition (i know )

When I go to the dashboard both versions are on the dashboard when I am ONLY watching the Silver Screen Edition.

Any idea how to fix this ???

You need to use multi-versioning feature, in either of three ways:

1) Put all different files in same folder and follow naming convention for multi-version movies

https://emby.media/support/articles/Movie-Naming.html#multi-version-movies

2) Multi-select and select "Group Versions" in three-dot menu

3) Use community-made Auto-Grouping plugin

Grim covered the options above, but yes do to ungrouped versions.  As all userdata is tracked by providerid so the resume point with get from all items with the same providerid, path is not used.

They each are still distinct items in the system, so yes you could do that. The tricky part though is being able to get to them individually. Folder view might be your best bet.
