Bonjour

Je rencontre un soucis avec une série qu'Emby persiste à détecter de façon incorrecte. La série c'est Animaniacs (2020) that Emby detects as Animania (2020). I have manually indicated the imdb id but no care !

I have renamed the directory this way: Animaniacs (2020) [imdbid-tt6951546] but still the same.

I have also resetted the detection of that media but no changes.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Vincèn

Hi, please try using the Identify feature and see if that helps.

Hi Luke

As indicated in my message it doesn't work ! If I do a search in Identify it doesn't find it and I fill manually the imdb id it doesn't work too :(

OK but please provide more detail. What exactly did you search for? The more detail the easier it will be to get you a solution.

Please also provide the emby server log corresponding to those searches.

Thanks.

Sorry for missing details but I have searched for the name of the shows Animaniacs with the initial release year (2020).

I attach logs (I have done the attempts around 8:30am. Let me know if you need anything else ;)

Thanks

TVDB and TMDB list that series differently and that is the root issue.

For TVDB, it is all original Animaniacs (1993), Seasons 6 and onwards.

For TMDB those are two distinct shows.

Animaniacs - TheTVDB.com

Animaniacs (TV Series 1993-1998) — The Movie Database (TMDB) (themoviedb.org)

Animaniacs (TV Series 2020-2023) — The Movie Database (TMDB) (themoviedb.org)

As TVDB is your top-preferred meta-provider, it doesn't recognize "Animaniacs (2020)" and it's being identified as "Animania (2020)", TvdbId 375642

Animania - TheTVDB.com.

Based on your naming:

Quote

"/medias/Series Anims Finies/Animaniacs (2020)/Season 03/Animaniacs (2020) - S03E05 - Épisode 5.mkv"

You have two options on how to approach this one:

1) Rename your series folder as "Animaniacs (1993) [tvdbid=72879]" and episodes as S06Exx and so on respectively, Refresh Metadata

2) Remove series folder out of your TV shows root > Scan media library to clear db > Move TMDB on top of your library preferred meta-fetchers > delete any existing NFOs > Rename series folder to "Animaniacs (2020) [tmdbid=107124] > Move it back > Scan media library > Lock the series once Identified/metadata downloaded > Revert TVDB on top of library meta-providers list

@GrimReaperThanks a lot for detailed explanations that allow me also to better understand how Emby works 👍 Nevertheless I have 2 side questions:

-> why it didn't work when I manually putted the imdb id in the Identify box for the show ?

-> same question regarding the tag imdbid added at root folder of the TV show ?

ImdbId is used only as a reference/lookup on other provider's databases, nothing is ever scraped from IMDB (cost-prohibitive), so it's more of a hit-or-miss compared to using actual preferred provider's ID, as it is depending on whether same ImdbId is entered/linked to a show or not (as it doesn't have to be, since external IDs are purely optional feature with the providers).

In your exact case, ImdbId tt6951546 actually doesn't exist/is not linked to any TV show on TVDB (Animaniacs link to tt0105941). It does on TMDB though.
