pgell 3
Hello. First, excuse my English. I can't play any movie in my LG tv model 42LB652V-ZA after last update to version 1.0.41. I can access to the server (Version 4.8.1.0) on a Synology NAS DS918+ with DSM 7.1.1 perfectly. But when I try to play an episode of a series it stop immediately with an error and pass to the next episode with the same result. The error in the screen is (I'm sorry, the system is in Spanish): "Error de reproducción. Actualmente no hay transmisiones compatibles disponibles. Vuelva a intentarlo mas tarde o póngase en contacto con el administrador del sistema para obtener mas detalles" It's something like playback error, there is not compatible transmissions. I looked the server log and say something about it can't make direct streaming because a resolution of the media file problem, but I can't understand why the app can't admit a transcoding. I turn the logs into debug mode but I couldn't find a better information. I try 3 movies with different codecs without success. I could watch that 3 files perfectly before the update, except for the old problem with the subtitles that I suppose is not relevant. I attach a piece of the log file. I know that you prefer the full file but it has a more than 200 MB size. If you need the full file I can send you by other way. Thank you. 20240216-embyserver-debug-lg42LB652V.txt
SamES 890
Can you please post the media info for a file you’re trying to play? Please post any ffmpeg logs related to this playback It also looks like you have a 4Mb/sec limit set either in the client or server. Try removing that. pgell 3
Hello. I attach the media info of two files. I don't understand what you say about ffmpeg logs. The server doesn't start a conversion of the file. Could you give me more information about it, please. About the 4Mb/sec limit, I have found a parameter under network section in the server, but it has not configured any value. I can't take a look to the LG app because the television is really not mine, it belongs to a friend and I'm not getting answer from him now. I'll tell you more about it as soon as possible. Thank you for your help. file1.txt file2.txt
SamES 890
In the logs section in the server, do you have any log files with a name like ffmpeg_transcode or ffmpeg_remux ?? Edited February 19 by SamES
pgell 3
Yes. But none of them contain information about the movies played on LG tv. At least, in the web interface of the emby-server. Do you mean to look for them in the logs of the system server properly?

Checking the media info you supplied, the 4Mb/s limit is not the problem, although I suspect it is set in the quality settings on the client side which can be accessed during playback. From your earlier comment, I presume you are playing this over a remote connection. This could be part of the problem. Has it ever worked correctly? Are you using a reverse proxy connection, or are you just using port forwarding from your router? Is the remote TV trying to connect using plain http or are you using https? The lg42LB652V TV is a very old model (webOS 1 or 2) and it is only a 1080p model, so any content greater than 1920x1080 will need to be transcoded - that is why you are seeing the error message about the resolution. I can't even say for certain if everything will work correctly - I think you are the first person I can recall that has tried this on a 1080p model TV! Then we also need to consider whether your NAS can handle the transcode, but at this stage it looks like it is not even trying
pgell 3
Hello. The environment has change. Now, when I try to start emby it freeze in the logo screen like in that thread: Anyway, yes, it connect remotely, but I can't remember if using http or https. I always use https, but some LG televisions failed and I fixed the issue opening http too and connecting this way. My server use reverse proxy. I suppose we have to wait next update. If you need some help from here, just ask for it. Thank you.
SamES 890
Find my post at the end of that topic, it has a work-around to relaunch the app. I think there might be a problem with your reverse proxy setup. Make sure the TV is only connecting via http.

pgell 3
Hello. It is difficult for me to help you, because it is one of my colleagues tv and I only know what he tells me. I don't know exactly what workaround SamES are talking about. Is it to click over the cross of the app? I talked with my friend about it this morning. He said emby stop in logo screen when he open the app and the cross doesn't appear. Anyway, he has told me this afternoon the app is working again today with not action by his side, only turning the tv on, but movies don't play yet. It is possible I have an issue with my reverse proxy but NAS system is very complicated for me and I have not found the problem yet. I have many devices connecting, some of them tvs, even some of them other models of lg tvs, all working perfectly and I don't want to ruin everything changing something wrong. When some of my friends have an issue with this, I tell him change to http and that fix the problem. In that case, my friend is connecting by http. Don't hesitate to ask for anything you need. Luke 37067
Have you compared your reverse proxy settings to this:
pgell 3
Hello. My emby server is over a Synology NAS, DSM 7.1.1 OS. Although it's based in Linux, it has a very particular configuration and you have to be very very careful when you try to change something that is pre-established. It has preinstalled nginx but I don't not if is used as reverse proxy. The reverse proxy interface in DSM is very simple ant doesn't have many options to change. I'll make some tests this weekend when the server were more quiet. Anyway, thank you very much for the help with nginx, it will be very useful for other projects I have. SamES 890
I know this is another type of nas, but the problem sounds similar. What certificate are you using? Be aware that not all ssl certs are supported by the tv.
pgell 3
Excuse my delay to give an answer. I've been very busy from last post. I made several tests. I tried to adapt my synology nas nginx config file to the one in the tutorial Luke posted, but there are a lot of differences and finally I did not dare to. Synology system configuration is very particular and you can crash all system if you don't know exactly what you are doing. I use Let's Encrypt certificate. Ok, it could be the problem. But, finally, I made a test that I think discard a reverse proxy or certificate problem. I opened in my router the emby default port to the server and connect successfully one of my TVs with http from outside trough this port. Everything works fine. The LG tv of my friend can connect but can't play any movie yet. I don't know what more test can I do from my side with this. Anyway, thank you very much for your help. 1

SamES 890
@pgell, the update should be in the LG app store which fixes the app not loading issue. For your connection issues, please make sure you have the latest server version as there is an update which might help as the TV model you are testing with is quite old and his fixes a specific issue
pgell 3
First, thank you very much for all your help. We have updated LG app but the problem persist. In the next few days I will configure the debug mode on the server again and we will do some more tests to see if there are new clues.
