Playback issues on several media

Hello,

i have to say that my users often complain about playback issues since i updated from 4.7.14 to 4.8.1 . I found errors relating to the database and invalid or expired tokens of something that i don't know what it is in the emby logs.

Before the update to 4.8.1 i didn't had these issues. Anybody knowing what's going on with that?

Regards

Schleudi

Hi, what specific issue are we looking at in this example? What exactly happened?

Hi @Luke

the movie in this example is playing but it is one of the movies which is showing "Wiedergabefehler wird behoben" as seen in the picture and i don't know how to figure out on how to fix this.

Second thing is that other movies are playing 2 minutes, then stop for round about 5 seconds for buffering or something like that and that procedure is looping over the whole movie. I have to focus on that when it occurs next time to provide you a log for the second problem.

a guess will be on the fly segment deletion as you are out of free space.  Repeats throughout log.

As for the "Playback error is fixed" devs will probably need to see the ffmpeg logs for this session also.

Do you think that space really is the problem? I just looked on the server and the space is actually used 12% from 30 gb. Is that amount to low?

If I understand the warning it means less than 2 gigs available and purges segments on the fly.

But dev may actually need app logs for the error recovery "&TranscodeReasons=DirectPlayError,DirectPlayError"

So it sounds like there's nothing that actually needs to be fixed, right? The app tried to direct play the original file. The player had trouble with it, so the Emby app automatically switched to transcoding. If it's playing successfully then what is the issue?

As for the ffmpeg log provided it looks fine with TranscodeReasons=ContainerBitrateExceedsLimit.

But you want to pair server and ffmpeg logs when posting.

When "Playback error is fixed" just means that the server is transcoding stuff then there should be no problem.

But i am wondering for that message because normally emby says it is transcoding media and the reason why, i.e. container, bitrate, audio etc., so i thought the error message has to be something that needs to be handled.

Sometimes yes, but sometimes no. It's case by case unfortunately, but usually it comes down to that the video player is having trouble with this particular file and so we make the switch in order to ensure that you're able to play.
