Incorrect/Missing Guide Data

Hey all, wanted to start this post with a big thanks to the emby team for putting together an awesome service. The sheer size and scope of everything Emby can do is pretty amazing, and the built in guide data is an incredibly useful feature in premiere.

That being said, I'm hopeful this post can serve as a bit of crowdsourcing to help repair some incorrect/missing guide data.

I've noticed here in the Memphis, TN (USA, 38654) area that the below OTA channels need attention on the guide:

  • 36.1 WQEK-LD - From spot checks this one seems accurate
  • 36.2 WQEK-LD - Guide data appears to be swapped with 36.3, what the guide says is on 36.2 is actually on 36.3 and vice versa
  • 36.3 WQEK-LD - See above
  • 36.4 WQEK-LD - Guide data lists channel as Comet, but it is actually TBD
  • 36.5 WQEK-LD - From spot checks this one seems accurate
  • 36.7 WQEK-LD - Accurate
  • 36.8 WQEK-LD - Accurate

Aside from the above, channel 19.1-19.6 (WPED-LD) are missing guide data entirely.

For the most part, most of these are pretty unimportant channels considering its a lot of infomercials and whatnot. So I understand if this ends up a pretty low priority, but a few of them play some classic movies every now and then, so would be nice to have them working right.

Thanks again, have a great weekend all.

Did it used to be "Comet"?  How does your tuner list it?

I would guess so, because certain sources like RabbitEars.info also list it as "Comet", but others like ontvtonight.com list it as "TBD".

My tuner lists all of the 36.# channels as "WQEK-LD" and the OTA EPG in WinTV only populates for 36.1, 36.2 and 36.5 very sporadically.

Update to add: I've only recently upgraded my antenna setup enough to get these stations, so I wouldn't know personally about their history.

So the main issue is the 36.2 and 36.3 swapping, right?

Yes, and 36.4 shows as the wrong channel.

OK we'll pass this on to our guide data provider.

I already did.
