What exactly governs transcoding/conversions. more specifically I find that when things try to transcode it never (or rarely) seems to work with live transcoding. And conversions take a while. Which sucks when you want to binge a series only to have to wait until likely the next day for the conversion to finish. so what is it that governs transcoding and conversions. Is it CPU, RAM or something else? currently running my server on a Terramaster NAS F2-210 with 1GB of RAM and if it is RAM based what would be the recommendation Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Luke 37254 Posted February 10 Share Posted February 10 HI @GoldenSpidergenerally this will be cpu bound, but if you're on a lower end NAS and you don't want to upgrade just yet, then throwing in another ram stick couldn't hurt if you're able to do that.
