Hi, I have a problem playing some files
I use TV Samsung Q80C as a player
App name and version: Emby for Samsung 1.6.4
When playing some files on the TV, the error "No Compatible Streams Available" appears

My main emby server platform is QNAP D2 Pro. Version 4.7.14.0

I also tested Emby-Server for Windows versions 4.7.14.0 and 4.8.0.73 beta

You should also know that i disabled Transcoding.

I also tried playing the problematic audio files with "Allow container formats to change as needed during media playback" turned on but nothing changed.

Below are also examples of music files that I can and cannot play.

Log file for emby-server 4.7 attached without debug - name embyserver-qnap.txt

i disabled transcode for both audio and video on purpose.I don't like how the server decides what it can play directly and what it can't. As for the audio, it looks like the server wants to transcode everything.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, but with these settings enabled server tries to transcode literally every song, including songs it can play without transcoding. Can i change this somehow?

It's probably better to look at an example of that and see what's going on.

Okay, here

Before turning on audio transcoding i played 2 songs @SamES

1. Bohemian Rhapsody - ok

2. D.D. (Dolby Atmos) - ok

After turning on audio transcoding - 3 songs

1. Bohemian Rhapsody - looks like played without transcoding

2. D.D. (Dolby Atmos) - transcoded

3. Belladonna - transcoded (doesnt play without transcoding at all)

part of emby server log included + 2 ffmpeg logs (i believe one should be for "D.D. (Dolby Atmos" and another one for "Belladonna")

Can you please send me a PM with a link to download those 3 or 4 samples for testing?  Thanks

I've had a look at the samples you provided, and I can replicate what you are seeing.

On the surface, there is nothing obviously different between the files that DirectPlay and those that won't.  That means that while we could allow EAC3 to DirectPlay, it won't work for everything. In addition to that, it's not a format that Samsung lists as a supported audio file format, so we would be living on the edge if we went down that path.

Considering all of that, I expect you will have to live with transcoding.

My only suspicion on the actual problem was that I can see for the two files that work, they are in an MPEG-4 (Base Media / Version 2) container, and the ones that don't are in an MPEG-4 (Base Media / Version 1) container. I can't confirm if this is the actual problem, but it's the only difference I could really identify.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!

I guess have to live with transcoding, just need to improve a bit server specs to make process more smooth and increase transcoding speed
