signde 25
I recently picked up the latest Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023). When playing a non DRM ATSC 3.0 channel from my HDHR 4K flex through Emby, the server is deciding to transcode the AC-4 audio: This device is capable of native AC-4 audio playback- it should not need transcoded audio: https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/device-specifications-fire-tv-streaming-media-player.html Sever log attached, playback was around 10:40am CT. I also submitted logs through the app at around 10:45am CT. Let me know if there is any other info I can provide. embyserver.txt
Luke 37094
Hi. Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.

With the standard android app it does direct play AC4 audio from live TV. The AVR was also showing full DD+ audio so that's good. It seemed to get bogged down rather quickly with the standard app though - after playing for 30 seconds it started stuttering heavily.
signde 25
I picked up an ethernet adapter for the fire stick, stuttering seems alleviated with ATSC 3 channels now. It seems the wifi driver and processing HVEC is too much to ask this thing. So what is the outcome here? Is something that will be fixed with the ATV app? Or is it inferred I should switch to the non TV version of the app on the fire stick?
Luke 37094
Are you happy continuing to use the standard app?

But the one disadvantage I see is that it's not part of the app store and thus I will have to manually update it. I guess I am trying to get a sense for what is the norm here. Is the AndroidTV app often behind in development of the standard Android app? Is there functionality or fixes in standard app that never come to the TV app? ebr 14921
Hi. We're transitioning from having two apps to just one.
