Good morning folks, sorry to be one of these "I have the same problem" people, but I have been searching for a solution in this forum for days and can't seem to get anywhere, so I really apologize for repeating others problems.
I just installed emby 4.7.14.0 on 8096 a few days ago, and have it runing on synology 7.2. I don't have https setup.
I can access emby via the browser, outside of my home network without isues.
However, using the emby app on android, if I sign in with emby connect, it takes me on an endless loop.
If I skip it, and manually add the server, using the same ip address that I can use outside of my lan on a browser, it immediately gives me an error message, almost like it doesn't even attempt to do anything.
"Unable to reach server"
we're unable to connect to the selected server  right now....
Setup https...
Use app.emby..

Am I doing something wrong?

HI there, try clicking add server and see if you can connect to your server by manually entering the ip address.

Hi Luke, thanks for replying.
I think you missed it in my original post, doing that is what gives me the error message

Right, the error message gives you two suggestions in the form of those bullet points. Did you try those?

There's no getting around this. You have to pick one of those two, or a third or fourth option:

  • Use your built-in web app instead
  • Use an installed Emby app such as windows, android, iOS, etc.
