AndreiP 4
Hi, I instaled my Emby server on my Windows PC. I linked my email to admin account of this server. However, when I go here: https://app.emby.media/ I'm not able to connect to my server (from my home and neither when I'm outside) even if I see it. I see also the cloud in the right top im my admin account when I open Emby server from my Desktop (at home) or using my Android application. https://postimg.cc/Mfykm2km I can connect to my server from my devices at home and also by putting the Remote (WAN) access in browser and entering my user name and password, but not here: https://app.emby.media/ I already restarted the server and I have Emby Premiere. In my understanding if I associate an email with an user of my server (including the admin account), this user can always connect to the server without having to enter the remote (wan) access, right? Could you please help me with that? I think that I missed something. Thank you, Edited January 12 by AndreiP
Solution seanbuff 841 Posted January 12 Solution Share Posted January 12 (edited) Without more information, it's likely your Emby Server is running on plain HTTP, and your browser is redirecting you to the HTTPS version (which won't work for you) Try explicitly using http://app.emby.media/ (without the s) -- if your browser is forcing you to HTTPS (which they have started doing), then you can read more about how to get around that here: @AndreiP Edited January 12 by seanbuff typos
AndreiP 4
Wow! seanbuff, thank you very much! It worked with Quote http://app.emby.media/ (without the s) Could you tell me please what I did wrong? Why my server is running on http? Should I change something? Or the problem is in my Chrome browser that forces https. And second question: if I associate an email with an user of my server (including the admin account), this user can always connect to the server without having to enter the remote (wan) access, right? I ask it because it's annoying to enter the remote wan every time when it changes (I don't have a static ip). Thank you.
Luke 37100
The browsers are beginning to force https now, so you may want to consider setting up https on your emby server.

Correct, that is the purpose of Emby Connect, to allow users to connect to remote servers without having to know the full address every time.
