tomsavini 1
Hello all, I have a NAS, a Synology DS1812+. I have ripped some of my movies, and I have used a Nvidia Shield pro (Kodi) and an Apple TV 4K (with Infuse) to watch the movies. It is working just fine, no problems. Both the Apple TV and the Shield can see the folders (using SMB). A friend of mine told me about the Zidoo Z9X, so I bought one to test. See if there was anny differences. The problem is that I can't see the folders on my Synology on the Zidoo. I found this: https://c4i.com.pl/pdf/specyfikacje...gy NAS SMB and NFS Sharing Setup Tutorial.pdf I did as it said, but it didn't make any difference. I have tried both SMB and NFS. Using the Zidoo, there was no problem logging in/finding my NAS. I did enter the username and password, no errors. On the Zidoo I can see the NAS (in sources), but when I press enter, I can't see any folders, all I see is an arrow and "Back". Software on the Z9X and NAS is updated. I have tried restarting the NAS and the Zidoo. If I choose the folder on NFS I do get an "Unknown error". I also formatted the Zidoo. Restarted the switch (both the Zidoo and the NAS is connected to the same switch). On the Synology, I added a new user. Read/write access. NFS, the same. I can see the NAS, but it wont show the folders, and it is giving me a message "Unknown error" Has anyone seen this problem before? In advance, thanks a lot
Luke 37068
Hi, I haven't tried this myself, but one thing I would suggest is to find out what version of SMB the zidoo supports, and then make sure that version of the smb protocol is enabled in your synology share.

Thank you very much for the input Luke. Here: "Z9X supports Gigabit network transmission, it could work with NFS, SMB v1/v2/v3, UPnP, FTP network protocols" I did follow this: https://c4i.com.pl/pdf/specyfikacje-katalogi/zidoo-1619-Synology NAS SMB and NFS Sharing Setup Tutorial.pdf SMB range set to 1 and 2. It is really irritating that "no one" has seen this before. I am close to going completly mad, haha
Luke 37068
OK, so that rules that out.
Solution tomsavini 1 Posted January 9 Author Solution Share Posted January 9 Again, thanks Luke. And... Just wanted to say: I finally solved it. I am beyond happy! I did a search, using SMB. It found my NAS. I logged in without any problems, but I couldn't see the folders on my NAS. Solution: In sources - I added the NAS by entering it's IP and pwd/username. Once I did that: everything worked perfect. Thanks for the inputs
