Noticed as i watch ep and new ones get added emby gets really confused about whats the next/continue watching ep to show next.

Example:
Watching : I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness

We can see when i enter the series/season it shows I have watched up to Ep 4:

Then When i look on my front page on any app (this example is from web) it shows continue watching EP11:

I',m not sure why it does this.
I have tried marking the whole series as watched and then mark EP 1-4 all watched and boom 11 pops up. If i mark 11 watched it goes to 12?
why wont it say Ep5 is next?

It also does this for anime: Shangri-La Frontier. You can see in above it shows EP 12 but i havent watched EP 11 yet?

Is this expected? i tried changing to "next up (legacy)" and it doesnt change it at all still says EP11 next:

Please let me know if you need any logs and what they are.

NOTE:  This doesn't happen to all series its really strangest thing

Try marking Episode 11 unwatched and then mark it watched again.  This will clear any partially-watched info which is likely what's causing the issue.

Hi.  Notice in your list how none of those episodes - up until 11 - have an episode number?  This is why it is behaving this way.  Please check your file naming and be sure these items are getting ingested as proper episodes.

@pwhodges : I tried  that and it makes  no differ  ebr is onto it and it seems its not matching the EP... weird

@ebr : I see what you mean but i believe I have it correct below:

here is naming per sonarr config:
{Series Title} - S{season:00}E{episode:00} - {Episode Title} {Quality Full}

Should i be removing the quality flag?
Also why does it match EP11 but none of the rest with the same naming?

So I went ahead and moved the all the files couple dir up and then did manually import with new sonarr renaming set to:

{Series Title} - S{season:00}E{episode:00}

It seems if u add - {Episode Title} {Quality Full} it doesn't always match correctly.

Going to test  same series and add - {Episode Title} and see if it still matches correctly on another series..
Still find it odd that some do and some dont match

Just as a point of info:

I use sonarr and the config script is quite similar to the one you posted at first but it has nothing except file info but does include the title. The script is:
{Series Title} - s{season:00}e{episode:00} - {Episode Title}
I have used sonnar with this script for many many years and, so far, Emby never failed to correctly match a sonnar named file.

Yea it seems not to like the format of quality

Before:
{Series Title} - S{season:00}E{episode:00} - {Episode Title} {Quality Full}

After:
{Series Title} - S{season:00}E{episode:00}

This fixes it

your format:
{Series Title} - s{season:00}e{episode:00} - {Episode Title}

like my old on but just missing the Quality tag.  It seems this really throw emby off.

I jsut mass edit and rename to new format and it seems to have fixed the issue. Jsut really odd it cant match when quality is given, and this is sometimes with only certain series.... not all the time. curious why it does and doesnt throw it off. sounds like a bug to me

Try this one for episodes

{Series Title} - S{season:00}E{episode:00} - {Episode Title} [{Quality Full}]

I use [ ] around quality.

And this for Series folder

{Series TitleYear} [TvdbId={TvdbId}]

I can give this a shot for a test series and if that works i get to keep the Quality flag and will rename my entire  library again (and have emby rescan it all (for intro skips))
TY all for your help on this one

@ebrIn TV Naming section would be nice if they gave compatible name configs for sonarr/radarr

The file names in these screenshots all look fine to me.

That format isn't liked removing or putting [] around the quality tags in sonarr resolved my issue
Removing "HDTV-1080p" or putting [ ] around it resolved.

Without this it doesn't always match.

Same series now:

Also side note I had another thread open for not matching anime and this also resolved that somehow..... weird i know.

Can you give an example of one?
