webserve 0 Posted December 9, 2023 Share Posted December 9, 2023 Hi, When I play a title that includes numerous subtitles, I've noticed that the Dutch subtitles are not showing. There are more languages that are not working. In the attached log files the Dutch subtitles are unavailable while Chinese subtitles work without any issues. This only happens in the google TV app. In the LG webos app this is working fine. Also this is only happends when there are multiple subtitles attached to the movie. ffmpeg-transcode-e78c3516-a894-4652-aba4-39dd66468853_1.txt embyserver.txt Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What I reckon happens is that only first six subtitle streams get mapped on transcoding: Quote 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 36884 09:13:59.654 Stream #0:23(por): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.654 Metadata: 09:13:59.654 title : Portuguese 09:13:59.654 BPS : 49 09:13:59.654 DURATION : 01:42:33.250000000 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1212 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 38073 09:13:59.654 Stream #0:24(por): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.654 Metadata: 09:13:59.654 title : Portuguese Brazilian 09:13:59.654 BPS : 47 09:13:59.654 DURATION : 01:42:33.250000000 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1280 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 36880 09:13:59.654 Stream #0:25(rum): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.654 Metadata: 09:13:59.654 title : Romanian 09:13:59.654 BPS : 56 09:13:59.654 DURATION : 01:42:33.041000000 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1162 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 43075 09:13:59.654 Stream #0:26(rus): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.654 Metadata: 09:13:59.654 title : Russian 09:13:59.654 BPS : 77 09:13:59.654 DURATION : 01:42:33.250000000 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1212 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 59824 09:13:59.654 Stream #0:27(spa): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.654 Metadata: 09:13:59.654 title : Spanish (European) 09:13:59.654 BPS : 45 09:13:59.654 DURATION : 01:42:33.250000000 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1381 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 34921 09:13:59.654 Stream #0:28(spa): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.654 Metadata: 09:13:59.654 title : Spanish 09:13:59.654 BPS : 48 09:13:59.654 DURATION : 01:42:31.792000000 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1222 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 37407 09:13:59.654 Stream #0:29(swe): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.654 Metadata: 09:13:59.654 title : Swedish 09:13:59.654 BPS : 46 09:13:59.654 DURATION : 01:42:31.250000000 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1119 09:13:59.654 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 36108 09:13:59.654 Stream #0:30(tha): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.655 Metadata: 09:13:59.655 title : Thai 09:13:59.655 BPS : 137 09:13:59.655 DURATION : 01:42:33.250000000 09:13:59.655 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1210 09:13:59.655 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 105685 09:13:59.655 Stream #0:31(tur): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.655 Metadata: 09:13:59.655 title : Turkish 09:13:59.655 BPS : 48 09:13:59.655 DURATION : 01:42:32.833000000 09:13:59.655 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1313 09:13:59.655 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 37614 09:13:59.655 Stream #0:32(ukr): Subtitle: subrip 09:13:59.655 Metadata: 09:13:59.655 title : Ukrainian 09:13:59.655 BPS : 78 09:13:59.655 DURATION : 01:42:33.250000000 09:13:59.655 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES: 1178 09:13:59.655 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 60033 09:13:59.655 Stream #0:33: Video: png, rgb24(pc), 513x759 [SAR 3780:3780 DAR 171:253], 90k tbr, 90k tbn (attached pic) 09:13:59.655 Metadata: 09:13:59.655 filename : 1080p BluRay x264 [Wakizza~BiTOR] 09:13:59.655 mimetype : image/png Quote 09:13:59.658 Stream mapping: 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (h264 (h264_qsv) -> h264 (h264_qsv)) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:1 -> #0:1 (dts (dca) -> mp3 (libmp3lame)) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:9 -> #1:0 (subrip (srt) -> webvtt (native)) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:0 -> #1:1 (copy) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:3 -> #2:0 (subrip (srt) -> webvtt (native)) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:0 -> #2:1 (copy) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:4 -> #3:0 (subrip (srt) -> webvtt (native)) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:0 -> #3:1 (copy) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:5 -> #4:0 (subrip (srt) -> webvtt (native)) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:0 -> #4:1 (copy) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:6 -> #5:0 (subrip (srt) -> webvtt (native)) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:0 -> #5:1 (copy) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:7 -> #6:0 (subrip (srt) -> webvtt (native)) 09:13:59.658 Stream #0:0 -> #6:1 (copy) Meaning Arabic, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Croatian, Czech and Danish, with Dutch to Ukrainian remaining unmapped (likely to limit potential playback issues). You should get rid of those extra/unneeded subtitles or obtain external text-based subs. Alternatively, you should strive to DirectPlay those items if feasible, as transcoding is occuring due to: Quote &TranscodeReasons=ContainerBitrateExceedsLimit Is that intentional as in your network can't handle it or your in-app quality setting is set too low?
