JuJuJurassic 28
I wanted to try IPTV, so I added an m3u and epg, but decided I didn't want it, so I deleted the IPTV mu3 and EPG. I also played with tags to restrict access to some channels, but I've taken them off now. So I have just the normal Freeview channels and the virtual TV channels. As you can see from the screenshots, I don't have a guide, but do have the same information from the individual channels. I've rebooted the server, but really don't have a clue what's wrong. I've run the refresh guide task from scheduled tasks. I suspect it's remembering something it shouldn't. The information is there, as it's in the individual channels, but the guide isn't displaying it. Incidentally, the Tortoise Channel is a CCTV camera showing my Tortoise's shed. As you can see from the screen shot's it's weird. Can you help me? I've also put the channel icons for the virtual TV here, in case you want to use them embyserver (2).txt
JuJuJurassic 28
Interesting... I just created a new user and it works perfectly for them, but still doesn't work for the old users. Any suggestions? Thanks

Luke 37180
Hi, that's strange. Do you see this issue with our hosted web app: http://app.emby.media
JuJuJurassic 28
Hi Luke, I tried logging in via the app, but it forces the use of https, which I haven't got. I tried http:// app.emby.media, but it forced me to https, and didnt stay with http. My users log in directly to the emby server, via it's ip/dns I've tried renaming the original /var/lib/emby/cache/xmltv directory to xmltv.old, creating a new xmltv directory and changing the owner to emby, then rebooting. Unfortunatley it didn't fix it. But logically the information is there, it's in each channel, and it's the displaying of it that's somehow become corrupted. How is this linked to the user? When I created a new user the guide worked perfectly. Where is the link between the user and the guide and how do I reset it? -------- Edit - I created a new directory /var/lib/emby/newcache, then chown-ed the directory to emby:emby and set the cache location in settings to it. rebooted the server, refreshed the TV guide. The result was; root@emby:/var/lib/emby/newcache/cache# ls -l total 44 -rw-r--r-- 1 emby emby 1463 Dec 9 07:14 7eb0d377224d4f1092d1975b35f496ca_channels -rw-r--r-- 1 emby emby 24601 Dec 9 07:14 80b0e24de1bb4b26b6332f603be7d7bb_channels -rw-r--r-- 1 emby emby 288 Dec 9 07:14 dbe788d82fbc4b4bba006571ac7d1c3d_channels drwxr-xr-x 2 emby emby 4096 Dec 9 07:14 ffmpeg drwxr-xr-x 2 emby emby 4096 Dec 9 07:14 httpclient So the new cache was being used, I then checked the channels and they were populated with the tv schedule, but the guide was still empty. I then reset the cache to the server default and rebooted it. Where is the link between the channels and tv guide? is that it? Is it in /var/lib/emby/config/livetv.xml ? I've attached that -------- I know the data's there, it's the displaying of it that's the problem, I guess it's when I removed the satellite tv/ re numbered the channels the problem happened Thanks for your help livetv.xml Edited December 9, 2023 by JuJuJurassic
JuJuJurassic 28
looking through livetv.xml, it refers to <ChannelOptions> <ChannelOptions> <Id>80b0e24de1bb4b26b6332f603be7d7bb_hdhr_71</Id> <Disabled>false</Disabled> <ListingsProviderId>b5646f6a29f3466c810b4c51a9dfb46c</ListingsProviderId> <ListingsChannelId>65394</ListingsChannelId> <SortIndexNumber>-1</SortIndexNumber> </ChannelOptions> <ChannelOptions> <Id>dbe788d82fbc4b4bba006571ac7d1c3d_m3u_98ec60c3ec9781d73ea0ff89ca603354082a00d502a94285b410e939c9dc8aae</Id> <Disabled>false</Disabled> <SortIndexNumber>-1</SortIndexNumber> </ChannelOptions> </ChannelOptions> If I look at the file 80b0e24de1bb4b26b6332f603be7d7bb_channels file, it contains the correct references to my freeview tv channels. I've attached the file. I think that's not the issue. I noticed an entry <ListingsChannelId>65394</ListingsChannelId> why is it 65394 - is that an incorrect channel id for the guide? is that why the guide isn't working? -- Thanks for your help, if nothing else I'm learning about Emby, I just wish I hadn't broken it 80b0e24de1bb4b26b6332f603be7d7bb_channels
Luke 37180
Quote I tried http:// app.emby.media, but it forced me to https, and didnt stay with http. Can you try a different browser such as firefox?
JuJuJurassic 28
Hi luke, I tried that. I had Firefox clear everything except passwords, and it still happened. I logged in as my admin account on Chrome, where I changed the settings, used Firefox where I logged in again as me to see the effects. And opera when I logged in as the user, I just created, where I worked fine. I then logged in as that user on Firefox, and it also works fine. Unfortunately, it seems not to be around a problem. Solution JuJuJurassic 28 Posted December 11, 2023 Author Solution Share Posted December 11, 2023 I FIXED IT !! But I have no idea why it fixed it......... I changed the guide "channel display" to display to both, then the order to "favourites, then default channel number" and it's working. I have spent days, literally, on this, and It seems that the little changes have made the guide rebuild itself. I hope this helps someone else, and saves them the hours I've spent on it.
