TV Model :  Samsung Smart TV (QN65LS03BAFXZA)

App Version: Tested on 1.6.4 & 1.6.7

Opus 7.1 audio plays loud static.   @SamES

Opus 5.1 plays great, no problems.

Same Opus 7.1 content plays on all other devices (Browser, Android, GoogleTV, FireTV, etc) without issue.

Tested this with a dozen or so 7.1 and 5.1 encoded Opus audio tracks to be sure.

Tested other formats with 7.1 channel layout, no problems (AAC, AC3, etc).

Did you test it with the internal Samsung player?

Yes, same issue.  The internal player does not properly handle Opus 7.1,  giving the same results.   I'm guessing Emby on Tizen is dependent on the internal player (no exoplayer packaged in like android).

So rather than have them be unplayable,  Emby should be force transcoding the audio moving forward, at least until Samsung updates their player.

Yes that is correct.

True, SFN on most apps should display the Player (Exoplayer, Tizen player, etc) being used.  I'm sure SamES can make it transcode Opus on Tizen when the channels is >6.
