Emby M3U Playback Stops After A Couple Of Hours.

Hey,

Whenever I play an IPTV (m3u8) stream it plays but only for a couple hours, I think this can be due to HW Transcoding? How can I fix it, I know it isn't the drive filling up because I got a 512GB SSD for transcoding.

Thanks.

It freezes when it suddenly stops. You can rewind but it stops downloading more parts of the stream.

I found this in the logs but I don't know what to do/what it means. (I'm transcoding with Intel Quicksync)

I also have issues of recordings being cut after several different time lengths 9min, 26min, etc. No rhyme or reason as to which stream will cut and how long after will it cut. Interested to see if you find anything to assist

I'm having this issue too. Most of my recordings are not finished.

I have always had this issue with emby not finishing recordings, sometimes it will but mostly never. What I did to resolve this is add a recording path to a shared folder but I use Tivimate to record my shows etc. Since you don't need the Tivimate app open after setting recordings it works perfect until emby figures this out it's my method anyway. I do this for the fights boxing etc!

Also if your gaming or downloading during any recording on emby it will never download the entire show but on Tivimate it just records perfectly for me even while gaming and downloading.

Another thing is you can use an emulator to install Tivimate on windows if you don't like putting extra apps on your device, faster pc ensures best results. Just set up all your recordings and forget about it long as your pc is on 🙂

I'm an old Plex Premium user until I found that the IPTV support on Emby, aparently, was much better. This is the reason why I've bought Emby Premiere lifetime.

If the recording on IPTV is not working for a long time as @Wokensays, I will try a refund.

I can't understand that a feature is offered without properly working. Please @Lukeremove it if it is not working or if it not reliable. Most of my records are lost or not finished and the problem is not my server (Ryzen 9 5950X and 128 Gb RAM) or my IPTV, thar works flawlessly most of the time.

More than half the time the problem is with the source feed. Surely that's not a reason to remove a feature, right?

Also you may want to try the 4.8 beta server and see how that compares for you.

Do you think that using any kind of proxy like xTeVe could do more reliable recording?

About to try 4.8 beta, how can I do it?

Thank you for your help.

It's possible.

Just install over the top of your current version: https://emby.media/download

@n1xkmdid you  notice the 410 gone error in your ffmpeg log that you sent to me? It looks like the url went dead in the middle of the show.

yeah i eventually did, i implemented a reload script (in xteve) that works for multiple hours now on pretty much every client except apple tv which just freezes after a couple of minutes.

the freezing stopped after i used vlc as the buffer and a 0.5mb buffer size
