Can't play some videos on Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen)

I could not play a 1080P H264 .MP4 Blue Ray rip on my Apple TV 4K.   I occasionally run into this issue with certain movies and if I change playback from Auto to MKV or native it usually works.

This time it didn't work on any of the choices.   But the same movie plays perfectly on the same Apple TV with a different APP (Infuse).    And I have Emby on a different TV with Roku and the same movies plays perfectly there as well.   

Most movies play OK on The Apple TV....but some are finicky.   

Any idea what's the secret?

I changed a few of the video settings on the Apple TV and it all seems to work now.....still testing
