Infuriating server issue.

I've been running Emby on my Terramaster NAS for a few years now with (generally) no problems. I'd access the server on a Chrome browser and then the app was running on various TVs through the house.

Then, a few weeks ago, I was unable to access the server through Chrome for some reason. Trying to manually connect to the server just gave this error.

However, I could still access the server through Firefox and the TV apps all still worked so I didn't think too much of it and just kept using Firefox.

Yesterday I updated to the latest Beta and that's when everthing went wrong. I still couldn't connect on Chrome but also I could no longer connect on Firefox or the apps.

A quick check showed that I for some reason I couldn't connect to port 8096 on the NAS. All other ports were fine.

I tried a clean re-install of version 4.7.14.0 and I could now access on Firefox and TV again (but still not Chome) but obviously without any of my libraries. Any time I tried to restore my libraries from a backup I would have the same issue as before.

Obviously I could start from scratch and manually restore all my libraries. But the thought of doing that has me breaking out in a cold sweat as it has taken me two years of careful curating to get them all exactly as I want them and I don't know if I have the time or the will to go through all that again.

Any help is desperately required and will be massively appreciated.

Latest error log attached.

Hi, make sure you're using the hosted web app on http://app.emby.media, not https://app.emby.media

Chrome will not allow connection to your plain http url if you are on the https version. The latest version of chrome is aggressively changing your entered url to https so you may need to manually correct it.

Hi Luke, thanks for that. That solves the problem of not being able to connect to the fresh install on Chrome. But I still can't access the server on any platform if I try to use my old data and library files.

I really don't want to have to manually restore all my old libraries.

It looks like you’re trying to run a 4.8 database on 4.7 which you can’t do. Since you’ve already gone up to the beta, you’ll need to go back up to it and stay on it until 4.8 hours stable and the stable version number catches up.
