Emby Server not working

Sorry if this has been answered. I cannot find a solution.

All my devices are giving me the error This Emby Server needs to be updated. To download the latest version, please visit https://emby.media.

This is on a Western Digital  My Cloud EX2 Ultra

I have tried updating to 4.7.14.0_arm.bin and 4.8.0.52_arm.bin. No luck.

The install appears to go fine, and is showing up under Apps

Clicking on Configure brings up the Emby Splash screen. Nothing after that.

Have tried uninstall/reinstall and rebooting the NAS.

Thoughts?

Hi, can you please attach the emby server log, which you can locate in the server data folder:

How exactly did you do this? You also need to manually delete the server data folder.

It's possible that your issue is simply related to going back and forth between 4.7 and the 4.8 beta channel, which is not supported.

Thanks Luke

I was finally able to SSH into it, but not sure where to go from there. The WD is not listed under Emby Server Data Folder.

If I type help I get this let of commands:

. : [ [[ alias bg break cd chdir command continue echo eval exec
exit export false fg getopts hash help history jobs kill let
local printf pwd read readonly return set shift source test times
trap true type ulimit umask unalias unset wait

I need a little more assistance. to get you the logs an  delete the server data folder.

Thank you!

OK yes this is consistent with going back and forth between beta and stable. I would suggest deleting the entire data folder:

/mnt/HD/HD_a2/emby

Then try and start the server and setup fresh.

If you want to try and salvage the installation, then you'll need to reinstall the 4.8 beta channel.

Thanks Luke.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Took some time off.

Will try and reinstall 4.8, first.

If that fails, I assume that I should delete just the emby folder, not the whole "/mnt/HD/HD_a2/emby"?

@The.doctorwhat do you mean? Aren't those two the same thing? What is the full path to the emby folder that you're referring to?

Luke,

Sorry for the confusion.

See the Full path image, vs the Emby only image.

I would assume that I would only want to delete the Emby folder (Directory)

That being said, installing 4.8 beta fixed everything!

Thank you so much for your assistance.

OK I still can't answer this question because I still can't see the full paths in those cutout screenshots.

Glad to hear it.
