Hello,

I have different folders with movies in my library.

To see the content in the different Apps, I can only configure the default view in one of them (and also for tv shows).

But in the other sections of  my movies menu, the default view is always "folder" and I have to change it manually.

Is there any way to configure the default view as movies for all of them?

I am using the beta versions for server.

Thanks in advance.

Several of those libraries appear to be Mixed-content type (including Peliculas Siglo XX); Mixed-content type libraries do not have settable landing page, they default to Folders. Change content type to Movies and you'll have same options.

Thank you for the answer.

I have found the path in my Qnap. If it is useful for someone it is:

cd /share/CACHEDEV2_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata/root/default

I have seen that the line of ContentType in the "options.xml" file is missing in the affected folders.

Later I will try to add the line in one of them and will see.

Regards.

Hello again.

It is strange. I have added the line of "content Type" in the options.xml of the other folders, but only works for "Películas Siglo XX".

I have checked the lines and structure of the different files and seems to be exactly the same...

I have downloaded the files options.xml of the different folders with WinSCP, and I have seen the next:

Path of "Siglo XXI": always working

image.png.ea88320791a186d23a19736b22428525.png

Path of "Siglo XX": added the line of content type and working

image.png.6fa93c04e6cac2f233ff48cd9b7cc2c5.png

Path of "Familiar": added the line of content type and not working

image.png.851704b8789d6ad4c2e2f297fa1b8d0a.png

Path of "Universo Marvel": added the line of content type and not working

image.png.1909688599d10419a5e616c033feb83a.png

I do not know the reason, because all of them are in the same path, and the scans when I add a file are working correctly, etc...

Is it possible that this has something to do with it?

Just to confirm, first two libraries (working) have a path:

/share/CACHEDEV2_DATA/Multimedia

Whereas other two libraries (not working) have:

/share/Multimedia

Can you share a screenshot of your server Settings>Library tab?

Yes, I confirm both. I am supposing that it must be something related with the internal structure of folders in the Qnap, because in the practice, "Multimedia" is the same folder even using the different structure of paths from Emby Server.

But after this I tried editing the path in the Library "Universo Marvel" (marked down), to have the same structure of the others, but it did not work. I have edited the path from the configuration menu in Emby server, not touching the file "options.xml"

Next, I will try to remove completely the library of Marvel (there are not to much movies), and adding again as a new library, assigning the the Content Type from the begining.

And will see.

Ok, adding the library again, assigning the content type from the begining, now it does not appear as "mixed content". Now it appears as "movies" (Películas in Spanish) and I can configure the default view.

I think I will do the same with the library "Familiar" to solve the problem.

Right there's no default tab selection right now for mixed content, but it's something we can add in future updates. Thanks.

  • Solution

Thanks Luke.

I have rebuidl everything, removing and creating again the affected libraries, and assigning correctly the content type at the begining from Emby server.

The best thing is that all the information about the played and unplayed content was preserved (I assume because the paths were the same), and I have not had to mark the movies again. Everything has been exactly as I wanted and only the libraries have been scanned again, without having to do anything else.
Thanks for everything.
