GloverEggs 6
I've got Emby set to always play subtitles. I've noticed that while Emby in Chrome will default to SRT files, that LG goes to EIA_608 on the same TV episode. There are no subtitles in the file itself. I just have an SRT file associated. It's a minor inconvenience, but at the start of every episode, I need to go back to the menu and set the subtitles to SRT. Any ideas? Course there's another question because if I load the file in MKVToolNix GUI there are no subtitles, so I don't know where this EIA_608 thing is coming from. SamES 890
Can you check whether subtitles are enabled in the TV’s accessibility menu? https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-tv-how-to-turn-on-off-closed-captioning--20153132264251
Luke 37071
Closed captions and subtitles are not exactly the same thing, so that's probably why you don't see them in mkvtoolnix. I'm sure they're still in the video file though.
