plessers@gmail.com 24
Hi, Playing a 4K video file wired on local LAN in same browser, I noticed that Emby think it needs to transcode the file. Plex streams the file without transcoding. Plex/Emby running on same server. Network is full 1GB, no problems here Specs of video file below. Is this normal? Can I avoid that Emby transcodes those files on local network if not needed? kind regards, Bart Plessers General Complete name : T:\DATA\MEDIA\SERIES\DANSERIE\2023 - A night at the museum - SE07\Danserie - A night at the museum 01.mp4 Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : Base Media Codec ID : isom (isom/iso2/avc1/mp41) File size : 744 MiB Duration : 3 min 33 s Overall bit rate : 29.2 Mb/s Frame rate : 50.000 FPS Encoded date : 2023-05-30 10:05:12 UTC Tagged date : 2023-05-30 10:05:12 UTC Writing application : Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Main@L5.2 Format settings : 2 Ref Frames Format settings, CABAC : No Format settings, Reference frames : 2 frames Format settings, GOP : M=3, N=25 Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 3 min 33 s Bit rate : 29.0 Mb/s Width : 3 840 pixels Height : 2 160 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 50.000 FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.070 Stream size : 740 MiB (99%) Encoded date : 2023-05-30 10:05:12 UTC Tagged date : 2023-05-30 10:05:12 UTC Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.709 Transfer characteristics : BT.709 Matrix coefficients : BT.709 Codec configuration box : avcC Audio ID : 2 Format : AAC LC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Low Complexity Codec ID : mp4a-40-2 Duration : 3 min 33 s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 172 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel layout : L R Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Frame rate : 46.875 FPS (1024 SPF) Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 4.38 MiB (0%) Default : Yes Alternate group : 1 Encoded date : 2023-05-30 10:05:12 UTC Tagged date : 2023-05-30 10:05:12 UTC Other ID : 3 Type : Time code Format : QuickTime TC Duration : 3 min 33 s Frame rate : 50.000 FPS Time code of first frame : 01:00:00:00 Time code of last frame : 01:03:33:33 Time code, stripped : Yes Language : English Default : No Encoded date : 2023-05-30 10:05:12 UTC Tagged date : 2023-05-30 10:05:12 UTC
GrimReaper 3330
Post ffmpeg log created for that session, wild guess would be Level 5.2 on AVC 4K encode. Edited August 31, 2023 by GrimReaper
