Wrong information

So far, I've been bothered by the fact that Emby very often assigns completely different record covers to music titles. Here I would actually expect that the cover available in the respective track list is used.

Fittingly, I noticed today that when searching for a music video (Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii), this one was apparently not listed by Emby. However, it was there - just with a completely different naming (Delicate Sound of Thunder). In addition, the file description is completely wrong (e.g.Filmed at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum in August 1988); it may match the Delicate Sound of Thunder video, but not the Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii one.
Only in the version description you can see the correct title; but Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii is not a version of Delicate Sound of Thunder.

Hi,
here you can see that under 'P' at Pink Floyd there is only one file 'Live at Pompeii'.

Try clicking on the one that is recognized. Did they get merged as multi-version?

I didn't merge anything, I just packed one file each as mp4 and mpg into the directory.
The screenshot in my first message shows a picture from the Pompeii video and as already said, the version is also 'Live at Pompeii'.
How does Emby associate the wrong title with Pompeii?

No, but the server might be merging these as one entry.

I took the tip from 'rbjtech' and changed the spelling; see - the correct title is displayed.
I can not understand this, because this video was recorded by me from the TV, modified and then saved with the title.

Good, this problem is taken care of.

What about the cover assignment for the music titles? Does Emby fetch them from another database? Why doesn't Emby take the covers available in the directory that match the listed titles?

Hi,

It looks like I got a directory with the selection 'Pink Floyd' where almost all covers are shown. This corresponds to what you have communicated, Luke.

There actually seem to be problems even with the cover display if the file name is only slightly different; see Figure 5 (above), here the cover is missing. In another folder I also found that the metadata (e.g. album name) must be correct as well:

And then this one:
I can play all the songs by starting each one individually. But when I click on 'Play All', the message appears that no playable items were found. But the folder is filled (picture 4), otherwise the songs could not be played individually.

Slightly different from what? It looks like you have to copies of cluster one. One has an image embedded, and the other does not, right?

That's right, the file named 'Pink Floyd - Cluster One (1993) outtake.wav' has no image, while the file named 'Pink Floyd - Cluster One.mp3' has an image.
Unfortunately, this assumption does not seem to be correct, because with the previous song, which also has two copies, both files have an image, although the namings are different:

Pink Floyd - A great day for freedom (Special Version).mp3

The file naming doesn't matter. What matters is if the track has an image embedded inside or not. Does it? Try refreshing the metadata on the track without an image and see if that helps.

I can't find any reference to cover assignment in the metadata, but I usually place the cover file in the same directory as the music tracks. With other media players this also works very well.

The following metadata is from 'audacity'.

Non image:                                                            With image:

This mp3 metadata is from Explorer; wav files are not broken down in Explorer:
