Why Roku is not playing m3u8 playlist files?

Hi, I just got an encoder for live streaming, I try to add strm file "/tmp/1/playlist.m3u8" and I got "No compatible stream".

I can't play on Roku or Web ussing chrome.

Is there any way to support playing m3u8 playlist on Roku without enabling transcoding?

Is not an external source or http, is just a local playlist.

Hi.  I don't believe we support playlists inside strm files - only direct media.  It is the same on any client, not just Roku, correct?

I tryied on Roku and Chrome.

If I "EnablePlaybackRemuxing" = true to the user then I can play it on both devices, the allways problem for this is the transcoding-temp files fillin up my hard drive.

Ah, okay.  Sorry for the misinformation above.

Did you read the help text under that option that you disabled?

Yes, when stop all files cleared.

1 hour of playtime makes near of 500 gb of segments that are useless.

Yes I did, the main problem is the hard disk fill up, I can't handle 4 users playing a sports event for example, 2 hours of playtime make about 1 TB for each event, if I have 4 users watching a channel I got 3-4 TB for disk space ... as I mentioned, that segments are useless since is a live streaming, the m3u8 playlist point to the last segment, if we are on segment 300 what is the need to keep the segments 1-290 for example...
