Very visible gray background when playing videos

Hi,

I have a bit of an issue using Emby Android app on a ChromeOS device (ChromeOS devices can run Android apps). 

When playing a video, in the player, the background outside the video region is very noticable light gray gradient instead of being black. This is seriously distracting, because it's commonly brighter than the video being played. I'm attaching two screenshots that are a bit exaggerated to demonstrate the issue (compare the background outside the video vs. the black of the title bar). The played video is SDR.

The app is Emby for Android 3.3.07 connected to Emby Server 4.8.0.39. The device is running ChromeOS 114 with Android 11 compatibility layer. I've tried setting the app theme to "Black", but that didn't seem to affect the background. Unfortunately, I can't access the data folder to export logs.

Is there any way to change the players' background color?
