paddy-emby 2 Posted May 28, 2023 Share Posted May 28, 2023 (edited) I'm running `emby/embyserver:4.7.12.0` - recently updated following the recommendations - in docker under linux. This evening my login for my admin account didn't work, which is strange, but I thought I'd go and reset it. According the official docs I should get a message on the Forgot Password screen... but I don't.... SSH'ing into my server shows the `passwordreset.txt` file, but it's empty... The password/account was certainly working prior to the update to 4.7.12, and my admin password is stored in the browser, so I'm not typing it wrong. I've tried redeploying the container/restarting docker, but no luck. My server has never been accessible on the internet, and I didn't have any of the signs/notifications that my system could have been breached with the recent hack. paddy-emby 2 Posted May 29, 2023 Author Share Posted May 29, 2023 (edited) I swapped to the beta channel to see if that would work, but it didn't fix anything, in fact Emby became unresponsive. I then downgraded back to 4.7.12. On running Emby promoted me to create a new user (I recreated my admin one with the same details). Emby then started with all my old settings and existing details. Definitely not a recommend path for a solution, and it was probably more luck than judgment.
