jathe 9
Hello, how can I avoid this happend on my emby server I can transcode the stream direct on the source, wich format is required or standar for Roku Players?
speechles 1920
When playing transport stream files the Roku cannot direct play them as the Roku will see them as live streams. This means you will lose the ability to seek, and you will only have the ability to pause for a very short time if at all. Since live streams do not allow those things and are played entirely linear. We repackage the TS files into an M3U8 which preserves (copies untouched) the video, audio and subtitle streams and repackages them. Because the Roku player is sent an M3U8 it does not treat this as a live stream. You can then seek, pause for extended periods, and such when this is done. As far as the question, Which is best for Direct Play without Remux on Roku? Choosing to transcode into MKV will give the best result Edited May 20, 2023 by speechles
