Good morning,

I am sort of stuck and don't know where to run. I have a emby server running on the below:

Emby Server V: 4.7.11.0
OS: Ubuntu Server 23.04 with Cinnamon desktop

I have a few Android devices running the app version 3.2.92

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra - Android 13
Google Pixel 6 Pro - Android 14 Beta
Oppo Find X5 Pro - Android 13
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 - Android 13 (App V: 3.2.77)
Android TV (Polaroid) - Android 10

The strange thing I am facing is that the Samsung devices can play all videos with out any issues but the Pixel, Oppo and TV are not able to play some files. One example is a mkv of Dara (any ep or season).

Test video (https://wetransfer.com/downloads/0cdbe23bc9b5c03e1889e4f52c5ce43d20230504014642/5aae79a064a80cece349e3701055025420230504015126/a3bb3d )

I have updated the apps to current version ex Tab S7 as I have not used it in awhile, I have updated Emby Server to the most current version. I have updated Ubuntu Server to the most recent version. I just dont know how to fix this issue.

If I need to attach log files and anything else please let me know.

Hi there, you've provided logs for 3 sessions:

Quote
App: Emby Web 4.7.10.0
Firefox Windows
Quote
App: Emby for Android 3.2.92
Fusion's S22 Ultra
Quote
App: Emby Web 4.7.10.0
Chrome Android

Which one is it that you're having issues with, as as per your post:

it's neither of those.

Btw:

Nope, your logs show 4.7.10.0:

Quote
Emby Server version: 4.7.10.0
Operating system: Unix 5.15.0.70

and that would be the first thing I'd suggest, update to latest stable. Once you do that and check playback on the other devices, we can take it from there.

This is where things are starting to make no sense. I have my Pixel device using emby for Android trying to load the ep I uploaded above but its just sitting there on the loading screen. No logs are shown for both this phone and the Oppo Find X Pro 5.

The logs I grabbed are the ones from before I tried the update but the server is running the latest version.

But it does show in the activity as starting to watch

It's likely trying to direct play, hence no ffmpeg logs. Post server log.

And multiple playbacks are shown in your logs - wild guess would be incorrect client capabilities reported or issue with encoding. If you force transcode (lower in-app quality below item bitrate), how does it behave?

Thanks for this I changed the Pixel's Internet Quality to 480p - 1MBps and it started to play. I am waiting for my partner to do the same on the Oppo and will update.

Looks like the Oppo was able to get 720p 1MB. So looks like issue has been solved. Thanks for all the help
