Luke 37116
@richardvrusso Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
richardvrusso 10
Hi Luke, Will do. I'll do a few fresh attempts from the ios app and android app. Then drop the logs in here.
richardvrusso 10
Oh wait. Am I downloading the embyserver.txt or the ffmpeg_____________ file(s)?
Luke 37116
Both.
richardvrusso 10
I grabbed the top 3 files. They were the ones that changed timestamp as I played files. Chain of events. 1. Played show X on ios app = failed 2. Played show Y on ios app = success 3. Played show X on android app = success 4. Played show Y on android app = success Oh, also the embyserver.txt I trimmed to start at 15:21 EST. That is when I started testing. I figured anything above was fluff. If you need the whole file I can swap it. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-directstream-4d160c59-4d9f-45f1-8ad0-bd67584526fe_1.txt ffmpeg-directstream-72e3ce2d-4e65-40d0-970d-95c1398d9af2_1.txt Edited May 2, 2023 by richardvrusso
Luke 37116
OK this is resolved in the next update to the app. This particular subtitle rendering will be done in a different way. Thanks.
richardvrusso 10
Oh awesome. Thank you. Question, can i change something on the server to overwrite/replace with a better or more compatible format? Or is it embedded in the mkv file and nothing can be done to it? Luke 37116
It's embedded, but using external srt is generally going to be the most optimal choice across a broad range of devices.
richardvrusso 10
That sounds good to me. I'll try and only use files that do not have embedded subtitles.
