I double checked they're both connected to the same network and other apps play nice with it. It will need to be one of those two, otherwise Chromecast access is not allowed by the browser. For https that also means you'll need to setup SSL on your emby server. So the url is "https://emby.example.com" What type of certificate? It could be that the Chromecast receiver is rejecting the ssl certificate.
