Emby "Forbidden" when I click 'Emby Server' at Synology DSM

Hi,

I have used Emby under DSM 7.1.1 well for last one month.

Today I tried to set External IP instead of internal IP 192.168.0.xxx on the Emby dash board.

After that, I couldn't access to Emby Server, even worse is that I couldn't open Emby Server at Synology DSM.

The web said "Forbidden".

How can I re-access Emby Dash Board to reset IP?

Hi Luke,

Regarding requested Emby server logs, I have difficulty using the web interface.

Also I couldn't find any of "Emby-Server\logs" folder through whole my computer.

I hope you to support me even under my bad knowledge.

HI, you should be able to get log files from C:\Users\chuck\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\logs

Thanks.

There is no "Emby-Server" folder as you can see in the attachment.

By the way, I installed Emby again into Volume 2 instead of Volume 1, then it works perfectly.

But I want to know why I cannot open Emby (error message: 'Forbidden') when I installed it in Volume 1 again.

Sorry are you asking about Windows or Synology? Because you posted a windows install log so that's why I mentioned the windows path to find log files.

The logs path for Synology is normally /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/logs

Are there any there? What version of Emby Server are you running?

I am asking Synology. Version 4.7.11.0

When I installed Emby Server on Volume 1 of my synology NAS HDD, it worked well.

After I tried to change IP, ev everything was stopped. I clouln't even open Emby Server. The error message was 'Forbidden', and I coudn't find any logs without opening Emby server.

One day after I install on Volume 2 of my Synology NAS HDD, it owrks well.

But I want to install it again on Volume 1.

Do you mean " /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/logs"? Where? Windows or Synology?

That's for Synology. Can you check that?

HI Luke,

I am so sorry, but I am a novice in NAS and I really don't know where I can find the fold " /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/logs"

As I explained, I cannot open Emby Server app under DSM 7.

Can you be a little more specific?

I just updated to DSM 7.2 with the most recent Synology beta. @Carlo

All was working perfectly prior to 7.2 update which required the 7.2 Emby version update.

I get the "forbidden" message via HTML and cannot access the dashboard to get logs, or change any settings.

Other clients seem to be fine (e.g., AppleTV, Shield, Roku)

Please help, thanks.

Sorry to hear that.
Got a few questions for you to try and understand this a bit more.  No right or wrong answers, so don't think the questions are suggesting you should be doing anything different.

What version of the Server were you running prior?

Can you show me a screen shot of the "forbidden" message you are seeing?

Do you get this message in a browser when trying to connect? If so, have you tried a different browser?
Were you always trying to login with you admin account? Did you try logging in with a non admin account?
Did you try logging in from a browser from the Internet vs your local LAN?

Are the three devices you mentioned, AppleTV, Shield & Roku) all ran from your local LAN?
Was it the same username you got the forbidden message with?
