Recorded file format and testing

• What is the file format used for files of recordings made from an HDHomeRun in the UK?

Currently I should be receiving AVC streams and in Plex they are saved as .ts files. What format/container does emby use?

• Also, how can I test emby's Live TV/DVR functionality?

I believe I can install emby (on Debian) and have a good look at how it basically works, but I particularly require Live TV/DVR functionality and really need to be able to test this out first. I am prepared to pay for Premium - if it does what I need. However I really want to know first how emby would work for me.

Ah, thanks. So presumably using the codec as transmitted, so currently AVC in the UK, rather than the older MPEG 2?

Hi.  The stream is recorded without any modification.  You can have post-processing, however, to do what you want with it after recording is finished.

I can't say for the UK.  Here in the States, streams are recorded as MPEG (with my Hauppauge and HDHomeRun).
