EliteOtaku 4
I am using Emby docker version in a Synology NAS, when I use conversion with a movie(byterate 4mbps), I choose hevc with 4mbps. When conversion is finished, I found the movie to be like this. The byterate is only 984kbps. Am I wrong with some setups? BTW: Everything is ok if I choose H.264. ffmpeg-transcode-b003362c-3977-4fe8-b87e-a82df2089098_1.txt Edited March 18, 2023 by EliteOtaku
Kimjifap 1
I too am having this problem. When using the convert feature, x264 conversions seem to follow the crf set in the transcoding options. But when converting to hevc the crf / cq seems to be set high causing files to come out too small and low quality. It would be great if we could pick the crf, cq, qmin, qmax etc in an advanced options area. As the conversions do not need to be in realtime like playback transcoding, it would be nice to have more control.
Kimjifap 1
@LukeAfter some testing, it seems like the HEVC conversions do not seem to take into account the bitrate you choose. everything is converting to the same quality (poor quality, dark scenes look awful) and size
