I generally test the betas at home to confirm other packages work since I use them in my office as well but with the issues that arise with rolling back a Synology update I would love to hear if the plunge has been taken by anyone else yet before I update. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You might get lucky one time or another, but eventually you'll find yourself with your installation broken and you'll have to rebuild from scratch. My understanding was the public release of DSM 7.2 beta (which I believe was released as 7.2-63134) was just the other day though the toolchain had been released at the end of last year. I agree with you, hence why I didn't just manually update to 7.2 and find out for myself. I went ahead and upgraded as there are other packages that need to be tested and it would appear Emby refuses to run. Specifically it runs for maybe 15 seconds and then stops, both with a manual installation upgrade and a fresh uninstall/install. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I could certainly be wrong though. Ah, no, that was my misunderstanding, thought you were referring to Emby beta, not DSM. Can you try our existing ones though? When we first tried with an early 7.2 beta, the packages would not load at all, however we haven't had a chance to retest on the latest beta. I can confirm that with the public 7.2 beta and the latest Emby 64-bit package (both stable and beta) do not appear to run. They will start for a few seconds and then "manually stop". There do not appear to be any entries in the console logs regarding the package after it initially tries to run, i.e., the last entry reads it started but it certainly has stopped. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Emby 4.8.0.21-beta immediately crashes after startup. Any chance of a DSM 7.2 compatible 4.8.0.21 version or later soon? If logs or the likes are needed I'm happy to help. I wouldn't have dared because I've been burned before aka lost all settings when trying a "downgrade" and had to rebuild from scratch. Worked fine here as well it seems - uninstalled 4.8.0.21 and installed 4.7.11. All settings, users, plug-ins and data kept. Plugins should fail also as you would have to downgrade them normally to compatibility issues but will vary per plugin. As core plugin come in each version. Make sure to manually delete the server's data folder so that you can start fresh. Rolling back from 4.8 to 4.7 on the same installation is pretty much guaranteed to be problematic, both now, and then later when it eventually gets upgraded back to 4.8. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I noticed some library ite.s were missing but a deletion of the library.db files fixed it. So i checked on my Nvidia shield and to my suprise everything works .
