Newly added files won't play, Emby does not decode them

Hi,

Since end of November, my Emby server suddenly became unable to decode any new movie or show that I add. Before that everything worked like a charm.
When I add a new file, Emby correctly identify it, but when I try to play it, I get infinite loading on my Android TV.
As you can see in the attached screenshots, the only thing noticeable is the lack of the line "Video: 4K HEVC blablabla", same line where I can change audio language or subtitle.
What is "funny" however is that even with these problems, I still can play files through Emby on my Android phone, but only in default language and without any subtitle because Emby Server doesn't see them.
As you can see in the 2nd screenshot (the one took through Emby for Android TV), the line "video" is saying in french "Video: <Unknown>" instead of "Video: 4K HEVC etc etc"

I tried creating another path on my hdd for emby files, but the problem remains. I tried updating Emby Server (was beta user), no luck. I even tried to completely uninstall Emby Server then install latest stable version, so I started a fresh install, but no luck either. Even worst: now all my files are "newly added files", so I can't play any of them.

I know my files aren't corrupted since I can play them directry in my server through files explorer and VLC.

My Emby Server is a Chromecast with Google TV with USB hub and a 5TB HDD

If anyone has an idea how I can solve that I would be very grateful.
I can provide any log or file if needed, just ask and I will provide.

Thanks for your help.

Wild guess would be an ffprobe - and possible permission - issue; could you add one item, scan library and post server log?

You are pointing something who seems a correct guess. I used to put files from my pc to my server through FTP. But now I'm unable to put anything in my Emby folder. Workaround I found is I put files in "Documents" folder, then take the remote of the server and manualy moving files to the correct Emby folder. However, files are not decoded that way. I even tried to create another path in my server and put files there, no need to use the workaround, I was able to put files through FTP. But once I set up the new mediatheque path in Emby settings, after the scan I still get undecoded files... And now I can't put files in the new path, seems I lost permissions and have to do the workaround.

I attached the emby log to this message.

So how can I resolve that permission issue?

Storage handling has been an issue on Android for quite some time and it gets messed upon with each upcoming version - and each manufacturer can also implement their behaviour; it is also not something that can be solved within Emby, as Emby needs those permissions/access to operate properly and be preset; you'll need to sort that out externally, maybe @softworkz or @cayars might have a tip or two.

HI, currently our android server ffmpeg build only supports up to Android 11, so this is the reason for the issue. We are looking into it. Thanks.

Oh. Thanks to the CCwGTV auto-update with no downgrade possibility. I guess it's time to move my Emby server to a Windows platform.

Thanks for your answer
